Review: Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water

Blog Photos2

Hi lovelies! Hope you are all having a great weekend! Today I have a bit of a mini review of the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water. I often have trouble with makeup wipes because they always leave my skin feeling extremely dry and irritated. Simple as a brand is known for being particularly suitable for sensitive skin so when I found about their Micellar Cleansing Water I knew I had to try it.

Basically, this product is a water based cleanser which not only cleanses the skin but also removes makeup. Whenever I use this product my skin always feels extremely soft and hydrated and it definitely does not irritate my extremely sensitive and dry skin. It has been absolutely great for removing makeup, even removing my Inglot Gel Liner which is usually such a pain to remove with other products I have tried.

This is actually the first time I have tried a Micellar Water and I honestly regret not trying it earlier. It is definitely a time saver on nights where you want something quick and easy to remove your makeup. I always cleanse my face afterwards with a face wash; but that’s only because I find that residues from certain mascara’s are really difficult to remove. So in that case, it doesn’t completely remove all the makeup from your face but definitely does a good enough job at it, while keeping your skin hydrated at the same time!

What I love about this product is that it is so easy to use. All you need to do is wet a cotton pad with the product and literally swipe it across your face to remove your makeup. The formula of this cleansing water is extremely gentle on the skin. My skin never feels tight after using this product unlike the countless other products I have used to remove makeup in the past.

I would highly recommend this product for those days where you are feeling lazy and want to remove your makeup fast. It is extremely affordable and leaves your skin feeling refreshed so definitely worth a try in my opinion!

Beauty This Or That Tag!

Hi guys! I know I haven’t posted in what seems like forever. I have been extremely busy lately, and on top of that, this crazy weather here messed up my internet connection so it was down for a couple of days. Hopefully the weather clears up soon so I can take some decent photos for my blog, really missing the sunshine lately! Hope all of you who are in NSW are keeping safe in this stormy weather! I have seen this tag floating around for quite some time now and I thought it would be fun to do!

Blush or Bronzer
This is a tricky one. I would have to go with bronzer.
Lipgloss or Lipstick
Lipstick, any day! I find a lot of lipglosses to be quite sticky.
Eyeliner or Mascara
Mascara! I once applied eyeliner and forgot to apply any mascara haha, I was not a big fan.
Foundation or Concealer
Concealer – I need to cover those under eyes!
Neutral or Color Eyeshadow
Neutral, for sure!
Pressed or Loose eye shadows
I prefer pressed eye shadows. Loose eye shadows are far too messy for my liking.

O.P.I or China Glaze
I have never used China Glaze. So I would have to go with O.P.I
Long or Short
It really depends. Sometimes I love the look of long nails, but other times I think short nails look really neat. So, both!
Acrylic or Natural
Natural. I have never had acrylic nails.
Brights or Darks
Flower or No Flower
I would have to go with no flower.

Perfume or Body Splash
Lotion or Body Butter
I usually just use lotion, but I would prefer body butter because it feels rather luxurious haha.
Body wash or Soap
Body wash!
LUSH or Other Bath Company
Believe it or not, I have never tried LUSH products before. I am a big fan of The Body Shop though.

Jeans or Sweat pants
Long sleeve or Short
Depends on the season!
Dresses or Skirts
I prefer dresses.
Stripes or Plaid
Flip flops or Sandals
Scarves or Hats
Scarves. I don’t think I suit hats!
Studs or Dangly Earrings
I prefer my studs.
Necklaces or Bracelets
Heels or Flats
Flats, any day!
Jacket or Hoodie
Although a hoodie is a lot more comfortable, I would have to go with jackets because they look more flattering.

Curly or Straight
My hair is naturally wavy and I really wish I had straight hair, so I would have to choose straight.
Bun or Ponytail
Bun! So effortless.
Bobby pins or Butterfly clips
Bobby pins.
Hair spray or Gel
Hair spray.
Long or Short
I have had long hair for most of my life, so I would have to go with long.
Light or Dark
Side sweep bangs or Full bangs
Side sweep.
Up or Down

Rain or Shine
Shine! Sydney has seen a lot of rain these past few days! Eeek.
Summer or Winter
Fall or Spring
Chocolate or Vanilla

Just wanted to finish this post off by saying that I will be starting a new job soon so I’m not sure how often I will be posting. I wish I had more time to blog but there are just not enough hours in a day! I definitely will keep posting, but I’m just not sure how often. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! ❤

March 2015 Favourites!

Hi there lovelies! It feels like just the other day I was typing up my February favourites. Time sure does fly! I can’t believe that we are already a quarter way through the year. It’s scary if you ask me! Here are some products that I have been loving throughout the month of March. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of them and what you think of it.

Australis Oh Hai Brow! Kit: This is my first actual eye brow kit. In the past I’ve just used either eye brow pencils or eye shadows such as MAC’s Mystery eye shadow which is one of my favourites for filling in brows. However, I have been absolutely loving this kit lately and I love that not only does it come with two brow powders but also brow wax, a highlighting shade, tweezers and two brushes. I’ve been loving the look it gives my brows, very natural but still full. This is my first time using a brow wax and I’m quite impressed by it, will definitely continue using it!

Chi Chi Glamourous Eye Shadow Collection – Sultry: I am a huge fan of these palettes by Chi Chi. Not only are the eye shadows velvety and soft but they are extremely pigmented and long lasting. This Sultry palette in particular has so many beautiful shades, I was completely blown over by the beautiful purple shades – they have both shimmery and matte! This palette is extremely versatile as well; you can create a number of looks as the shades range from deep purples to deep browns and some shimmery shades too. Absolutely love it!

Max Factor Crème Puff Plush – Lovely Pink: This is a beautiful pink blush which is extremely light, which is why I love wearing it during the day time for a natural flush of colour. I don’t think this would look good on me when I’m more tan because it would probably be too light but for Autumn/Winter it is just perfect. This is a baked blush which is extremely soft and blends easily. I will most definitely be trying more of the blushes from this range!

MAC Diva Lipstick: I saved the best for last! This is the PERFECT deep shade for Autumn/Winter. It is a beautiful burgundy red shade which I think will look absolutely awesome on a range of skin tones. I’ve tried my fair share of vampy lipsticks but I found a lot of them didn’t suit me. This has been my go to lately! Even though it is matte, it goes on extremely smooth and lasts a considerable amount of time without bleeding. An extremely flattering lipstick which I feel will always be a staple in my collection now!

What’s On My Nails…

Hello loves! Hope you’re all having a great weekend so far! So, it occurred to me the other day that I haven’t done a nails post in a very long time! I have an unhealthy obsession with nail polish but lately I have been behaving well when it comes to unnecessary splurging on nail polishes.

This past week I’ve been wearing the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Choco-Latte. I love me a good nude nail polish. I think it looks very sophisticated and can be worn all year round! When I don’t know what colour to wear on my nails, I always opt for a nude polish. This particular nail polish is very easy to apply, due to the shape of the brush. It’s great for those days when you’re in a rush but still want your nails to look chic. It also dries quite quickly and lasts for a reasonable amount of days, given that you use a top coat with it!

This is a beautiful, pink toned nude which compliments my skin tone well and doesn’t make my hands look ashy. Hope you all enjoyed this post! Do let me know what some of your favourite nude nail polishes are 🙂 xx

Review + Swatches: Essence Soo Glow Cream to Powder Highlighter in ‘Bright Up Your Life”

DSC01834I’m a big fan of luminous skin. I think a good highlighter can go a long way in achieving that beautiful glow. I have always found it harder to find cheaper alternatives to highlighters so when I saw a few beauty gurus on Youtube giving rave reviews about this I knew I had to try it. I picked this up from Priceline a while ago. I can’t seem to find the product on their website anymore but I do know that it was for quite cheap. On the Essence website it is $5.75 AUD so I’m pretty sure it would have been the same price in Priceline.

It comes in two shades, I got the shade “20 Bright Up Your Life” which is cool toned, with pink undertones. I couldn’t find the other one in my local Priceline store. Considering that it is a cream product, one would think that it takes some time to dry to a powder finish but it dries super fast so you have to be rather quick when applying it. Once set, it gives a beautiful sheen. It can definitely be used under the brow bone or in the inner corner of your eyes for a nice highlight there also.

I’ve found the easiest way to apply this is with my fingers. I just take some on my fingers and gently pat it onto my cheek bones, and then rub it in very lightly. The best way is to pat it in rather than rubbing it in too much. I find that the warmth of my fingers really helps to melt the product and allows it to go on much smoother, as opposed to applying it with a brush. If I use a heavy hand it can  disturb my foundation. The packaging is not anything special but honestly, for the price I paid it’s not a deal breaker, because the product is lovely.

It gives a beautiful, healthy glow to the skin and can definitely be worn during the day or night. It is extremely pigmented as you can see from the swatches. it has such a beautiful shimmer to it.

I’m always on the hunt for highlighters and have been really pleased with this product. I’m a big fan of Essence products. I have tried a few of their mascara’s and nail polishes in the past and have been quite impressed.

Have you tried this highlighter? What did you think of it? Can you recommend any of your favourite highlighters?

Inglot AMC Gel Eye Liner no. 77: Mini Review

Hi beauties! Today I have a mini review of a gel eye liner which I have been loving lately! I picked up Inglot’s  AMC Gel Eye Liner in no. 77. To be quite honest, I have never been the biggest fan of gel eye liners. Mainly due to the fact that I had never found one that I was overly impressed by. But after discovering this little gem I think it’s safe to say that it has definitely changed my views on gel eye liners. I always found other gel eyeliners to be lacking pigmentation and becoming extremely dry quickly. This gel eye liner is definitely neither of that! And here is why…

Firstly, it is SO black! Like I’m talking super black, which is one of my favourite things about this product. A lot of other gel eye liner’s I have tried just don’t cut it when it comes to pigmentation. They are never black enough for my liking but this is definitely the blackest black!

The texture of this gel liner is also extremely buttery! It is so easy to apply and literally just glides on. You only need the tiniest amount and you’ve got both eyes done! I cannot believe just how creamy this liner is. Despite being so creamy, it has incredible staying power and it literally lasts on my lids ALL DAY! I have never found an eye liner (liquid or gel) to last on my lids this long. I am so impressed! It dries to a matte finish and here is where you might have a problem. It dries extremely fast, so if you make any mistakes you need to act really fast otherwise it will be extremely difficult to correct it. I have heard of people saying that it smudges on them but I personally have not had that problem.

The pros definitely outweigh the cons in this case. It is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a super opaque, creamy and long lasting gel liner then look no further! At $25 AUD I think it’s quite reasonably priced. As you can see from the swatch it is extremely pigmented! I have always been a liquid liner gal but I think this product has been a game changer for me.

I have only been using this for a few weeks now, so I can’t exactly comment on whether it dries up over time but I will definitely report back over the next few months and let you know how things go!

Face Of The Day – Purple Smokey Eyes!

Hello lovelies! The other day I did a purple smokey eye look and I thought I’d share it with you all. I was asked on my Facebook to share the products I used, but I am really forgetful when it comes to things like this so I had to dig through my makeup again to find all the products – silly old me! I don’t generally wear dramatic makeup on a daily basis but I was feeling a little experimental that day and this is what I came up with. I’d love to know what you think of it, or give me some of your own tips perhaps? 🙂
